This weekend 25th and 26th   May we had 13 swimmers at Blackpool for this high level3 meet. This was the first time we have attended this meet. Nothing really prepared us for the fantastic atmosphere with æQueenÆ anthems being pumped out in-between the sessions! By day two the swimmers were all experts at the routine.

Spirits high the swimmers got stuck in to why they attended the meet and PB times and even better ASA personal bests were achieved.

All the swimmers behaved impeccably and those more experienced took the younger or newer team members under their wings and helped them with the protocol of the day.

For some younger swimmers there was lots of sitting around in-between races however lots of bonding (and playing games and eating too)

Results over the weekend, from 13 swimmers 67 races were participated in. A fantastic 55 ASA personal best times were achieved.

Sam Ellis 1 PB, Chelsi Hanlon 3 PBÆs, Kieran Hennessy 9 PBÆs out of 9, Hannah Jones 4 PBÆs, James Maginn 3 PBÆs, Kathryn Mc Evilly 8 PBÆs Amy Nettleton 2 PBÆs,  Rhiannon Pellow 2 PBÆs, Eleanor Rea 6 PBÆs, Ellie Russo 2 PBÆs, Mathew Russo 5 PBÆs, Ella Smith 5 PBÆs and Jake Wissett 5 PBÆs

ASA personal best times are wonderful and we even won some medals.

Kieran Hennessy had an outstanding weekend with 9 out of 9 races achieving personal best times. Additionally he won three bronze medals in the 100 Fly, 50 Fly and 50 Free. He was also successful in the 200 Fly when he achieved silver.

Kieran is such a great ambassador for the club at these meets and deserves all achieved.

All swimmers who attended also received a stick of Blackpool Rock so no one left empty handed.

Well done all, for some their first competitive meet. Fantastic poolside team too, Special thanks to Kath, Pam, Brian H and Brian Mc as between us we covered the two days/4 sessions. Without this help the swimmers would not perform as well as they did, the team kept them motivated, entertained and hydrated.

All swimmers commented on how much they enjoyed the meet. A definite target again for next year. All swim times updated
