Echo Cup Final

The swimmers all had a fantastic afternoon yesterday at Everton Park for this years Echo Cup final. Despite some swimmers being unable to attend the final due to holidays or other commitments every swimmer that attended gave each swim 100% effort. There were plenty of personal bests achieved. With the majority of swimmers travelling to the final by coach and all wearing their new tops and caps. It was a great day to take part, remember not every club makes it the final. And unlike other teams we made the decision that every available swimmer would be invited, and not just those with the fastest times. It was a team event and all efforts through the first two rounds had been appreciated.

The relays seen us constantly being placed in 7th and 8th position given the tough opposition. However once the individual swims began the swimmers gave it their all and there were some sensational individual times achieved. The second set of relays got us some better finishes and excellent times. We went into the final placed in 8th position, with some swimmers shallow diving for the first time at competition level and the high pace of the afternoon it was a brilliant opportunity and experience for all. We left the final still in 8th position, after giving it our all, having fun and the supporters without voices after giving the swimmers tremendous support.
Well done everyone, and to the poolside team that looked after you all.

Congratulations to Southport too who remain Echo Cup Champions.

All individual times are now updated.
