Club Championships

Please note the basis of entry to this year's club championships has changed.All swimmers aged 8 and over on 31st December 2009 will be eligible to compete, provided they have registered in advance of the competition. We would remind all parents and swimmers that Otters is a competitive swimming club and this is an important fixture in the club calendar and attendance is a requirement of membership. As well as being an exciting event it allows the coaches to select the squad for external competition.
Heats in each event will be seeded based on swimmers' best recorded times on Swim Club Manager. If a swimmer doesn't have a recorded time for an event, then they can still enter but are likely to be entered in the earlier heats. Medal winners will be determined on a heat declared basis, i.e. based on the fastest times from all the heats for a particular event.
Age groups will remain as in all previous years: -
8 yrs (competing in 25m events only & 100m IM)
9 yrs
10/11yrs
12/13yrs
14yrs & over
Open (10yrs/over)(100m events Brst, Back, Fly, Freestyle/ 200m Freestyle & IM)
Swimmers can compete in any number or all of their eligible events - there is no minimum or maximum number of entries, but younger swimmers in particular should be careful to pace themselves.
We will be using Meet Manager software to run the event which amongst other benefits will allow us to produce start lists, programmes & lane time recording sheets and post the results soon after the finals. It is therefore essential that all swimmers wishing to take part register in advance which strokes and distances they wish to swim as no late poolside entries will be permitted.
